As a thriving and successful village school we pride ourselves on being warm, welcoming and inclusive. Our values drive everything we do and help to lay the foundation for happy, nurtured and thriving children. But you don’t just have to take our word for it… You can take a look for yourself.
A great starting point is joining one of our school tours, these are an important way to find out about a school – What does it feel like during a normal school day? Are the children happy? How do the children interact with each other? ARE THEY HAPPY? * I’m aware I put this question twice… it is just show how important being happy is!
It is not just school tours that give a view in to our school – one of the very best ways to learn what a school is like is to ask the parents who choose to entrust us with their most important people.
Below are all the responses we got when we asked our parents for their views about the school. Here is what they had to say:
Olveston is a lovely, nurturing school that truly lives by their statement of rooted in love. I trust that the academic side of learning is good and ambitious. However more importantly for me, the social and emotional side of learning is just great. They really do have the child at the heart of choices and all children (and families) are welcomed and made to feel wanted and a part of a community. I could not have asked for a better start to my child's education experience.
I am a new parent at the school, but I am so pleased we chose Olveston School for our daughter. It is a nurturing, caring and supporting environment where my daughter has settled in straight away. We can't wait to watch her grow and develop throughout her time at the school. The school also takes the time to support the parents, providing us with regular updates and opportunities to engage with the school.

PSED teaching is strong and staff embed the school and church values into the students effortlessly.
Mr Dunn is always at the school gate to greet the children and parents. He is very friendly and approachable. I have spoken to him about day to day matters and feel if I Had any concerns I could approach him and discuss these with him and he would listen, take issues seriously and try to resolve them. All the management team seem to work very well together to make the school run successfully. All staff we have met have been kind and friendly, creating a very caring setting, which in turn I feel makes for a good learning environment. My daughter is very happy and settled in the school and enjoys all aspects of her school day and we are very grateful that she attends Olveston school.
As Olveston School states, it is "rooted in love", and this is evident in the way the children are taught, progressed, and the pastoral care they have available. I don’t think any child could go through primary years at Olveston without learning key Christian values, high standards of behaviour, and mutual respect for their peers, and adults. This is an exceptional school, and my daughter has never been happier.
Olveston School is a wonderful environment for the children and parents, more like a close community , when i have faced hardship at home, Olveston have supported my family and made sure we had food on our table, they go above and beyond just being a school .
Have been super impressed with the school, especially around safeguarding. The school has taken on my concerns and supported our family in order for us to relax and know that our child is safe whilst in their care.
We love this school and the family feel it has - the fact that all the children through all the school years seem to know each other by name and are friends is lovely! We've had nothing but positive experiences.
Olveston School truly puts 'rooted in love' at the heart of everything they do, this was apparent from the moment our daughter got her place. The summer sessions had been carefully considered to not overwhelm parents or children. In September, the home visit was a wonderful opportunity for our daughter to meet Mrs Blake and Mrs Lovell and to discuss anything she was nervous about. The staggered start helped us all to get to grips with school. Our daughter may have only been at school a few weeks but she is flourishing and I can't wait to watch her grow throughout the year.
Brilliant teachers and leadership team. Wonderful friendly and inclusive school which instils and celebrates the school values in all the children. We feel very lucky to be able to send our children to Olveston!
Olveston school is wonderful. Everyone from the teachers to the school catering staff to the office staff will take great care of your child.Olveston is a small school with a big heart. Staff really care about the children and this shows with their smiling faces every morning, interacting not just with the children in their class but those across the school.
My child has always been super happy and loves all her teachers. They get to learn and develop and grow every day. LOVE the school!
