Medical Matters
Accidents can happen! As a parent you will be more than aware that cuts and grazes on elbows and knees are a day to day occurrence in the life of a child. This is also the case in school, therefore the school has a number of first aiders who are trained to deal with the ‘day to day’ first aid within school.
There are differing degrees of training that is provided to our first aiders: the first level of training is a basic awareness level that we provide to all staff on an on-going basis. This is a non-certified training that is aimed at helping them deal with incidents as a first responder, this is the person who usually identifies the need to call for/or send to a first aider.
Paediatric first aiders: Lee Dunn; Katelyn Blake; Hannah Horder; Nicola Hemming; Michelle Pitcher
First Aid at Work: Helen England; Lois Bradburn; Cindy Newsome; Karen Phillips; Kate Lewis; Nina Lewis-Leaver; Nicole Owen; Suzanne Saunders Helen England; Lois Bradburn; Cindy Newsome; Karen Phillips; Kate Lewis; Nina Lewis-Leaver; Nicole Owen; Suzanne Saunders
In addition to this training members of staff in school are also trained in the administering of Epi-Pens and the monitoring of asthma.
