Welcome to Olveston School Smiles and laughter are everywhere...
I am proud to be Head Teacher of Olveston C.E.V.C. Primary School. Since joining the school in 2006, the school has continued to grow from strength to strength with the addition of The Wike Hall (in memory of our late Head Teacher, Mr Peter Wike) and the development of the library, mezzanine and computer suite.
Our modern facilities add to the rich learning experience on offer to all pupils. If you take a tour of the school you will see that all children experience a creative approach to learning through our Creative Curriculum. Children are encouraged to ask questions, investigate and explore.
The Friends Of Olveston School (FOOS) continue to organise fun events throughout the school year, helping to raise additional funds used to enhance the children’s time at their school.
The staff of Olveston School want the best for each and every pupil and this is evident in their dedicated attitude to all aspects of school life. They are prepared to ‘go that extra mile’ for parents, children and other staff members and this makes Olveston a very special place to be. Visitors to the school comment on the warm and welcoming atmosphere and an Ofsted inspector reported that ‘smiles and laughter are everywhere in this happy and harmonious community.’ (view the January 2011 report).

Headteacher
Teachers are keen to ensure activities are child centred, encouraging skills such as leadership, team work and communication. The use of the outdoor environment complements many activities and we have done many things to enhance our outdoor space.
