Thornbury Carnival took place on Saturday 4th July 2009 and was a huge success for the local community. The sun shone and Olveston School children joined hundreds of people from local groups and companies in a parade of 1.2 miles from Castle School to Thornbury High Street.

The crowds gathered to see the parade and cheer us on as we marched. The children wore sparkly hats and waved pom poms in blue and yellow, while playing a range of percussion instruments. Year 6 pupils Julia and Maedene held the school banner proudly for all to see.
The day continued with Mrs Luke and some willing parent volunteers running a ‘strawberries and cream’ stall. By 4.00pm we had totally sold out, selling just over 100 bowls of fresh strawberries! All profits made will go towards school fund.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all parents who helped out in the parade and on the strawberry stall. An enjoyable day was had by all!
