Class Teacher - Mr Dunn
Hello! I’m Mr Dunn, the Year 6 teacher and Deputy Head Teacher at Olveston. I am originally from South Wales, I grew up in Newport and studied BA in Education at Swansea University. From there I moved to the West Midlands where I worked for eight years in an inner city school before moving to rural Herefordshire, to a school very similar to Olveston. After working there for 4 years I moved back closer to home and started working here at Olveston.
For the last 5 years I have worked as a Deputy Head Teacher and Specialist Leader in Education, a role that involved me supporting other schools across the county.
My curriculum specialisms and passions include SEND (I am the school SENDCo), Maths, Science and outdoor learning - particularly Forest School.
Outside of school my interest include scuba diving (I am a qualified PADI Scuba instructor) and travelling. I have spent time living and working in South East Asia and Australia teaching people from all parts of the world how to dive.
The most important part of my life is being a dad. My daughter was born in July 2017. So, as you can probably work out, I spend most of my spare time trying to figure out what my 2 year old wants, needs ....or demands!
