Finding a new school can be a challenging and daunting prospect. At Olveston we aim to make this process as straight forward as it can be.
We pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming school. This starts from the very moment a family decides to visit our school. We know that families have busy working lives so we try to arrange school visits around this. A school visit usually involves a tour from our Headteacher Mrs Amanda Luke who will guide you around the school explaining what make Olveston such a happy, vibrant and successful school. As part of the tour our school office can offer advice on how to apply for a school place and provide the useful web addresses and phone numbers you would need to make a move possible.
Many parents describe 'the feeling' they get about a school when they know it is the right school for their child and we truly believe that experiencing what our school can offer first hand is what helps families understand why Olveston is such a special place for children to learn, grow and flourish.
We have found that when a family is seeking a new school they often ask the same questions, you can find the answers to most of these questions on main admissions page or throughout our website.
We currently have spaces in all year groups.

What new families say about joining the Olveston community:
New Starter Autumn 2018
Can I first say how overwhelmingly pleased I am with our move to Olveston Primary School. At first I was unsure of what moving to the area would bring but from the very first phone call with Mrs Hemming it was obvious how warm, welcoming and supportive the school would be.
Travelling half way around the world and settling in the area it was hard to know which school would be right for my daughter. I feel very lucky and extremely pleased that we have found such a wonderful school.
The positive relationship between home and school was obvious from the start. Before even joining the school we spoke to the school office who so understanding and supportive. They arranged a meeting with Mrs Luke, the Headteacher, who gave my daughter and me a tour of the school. I felt instantly the positive energy around the school and the warm atmosphere. Mrs Luke embodies this and it is clear that, in her, the school has a leader who places happiness as a key priority.
Next I met Mr Carter, my daughters soon to be class teacher, who was equally as wonderful. He gave his time freely to us and really helped my daughter feel comfortable and confident about the move. As a parent it is little things that make a big difference, for example we missed the parents meetings that were held just before we started but Mr Carter arranged an extra meeting just for us. He has given us regular updates about how my daughter is doing and shares her successes with us.
Once again I feel lucky to be part of the Olveston family and would change our school choice for the world.
